Many of us, myself included, suffer from lower back pain. A combination of a sedentary lifestyle and long periods of being stationary means that our postural muscles adapt to support the collapsed posture we form. Lots of yoga sessions seem to focus on the body being in a collapsed position with the pelvis scooping under, but many people who don’t present that physicality can have a bad back.
The issue is movement. Sitting bolt upright at your desk is just another posture that has you stuck there. Learning to move and identify where is getting tight and developing conscious awareness of your posture is what is going to create meaningful change. While you may not be able to do this series at your desk every day, you could take some of these with you and get moving a little more. Or, subscribe to the channel and do the Desk Yoga video!
